As faculty, we believe that higher education is a path to upward mobility. Thus, it is typical that students of higher education face financial challenges. This is especially true in state colleges. If students can save money by using an Open Educational Resource text, we can enhance their quality of life and help them gain the upward mobility that comes with education. As adapting authors, we remixed this book for you, the students. This version of the text was created with Florida SouthWestern State College students in mind. We tried to incorporate relevant images, examples, and FSW-specific content to connect to you, our readers!

We sincerely thank the original authors, Amy Fara Edwards, Ed.D., Marcia Fulkerson, M.A., Victoria Leonard, M.A., Lauren Rome, M.A., and Tammera Stokes Rice, M.A., who have graciously allowed us to remix this for you. We also send our sincere thanks to the OER development team, Dr. Roz Jester, Professor Arenthia Herren, and Ms. Jillian Patch. We thank you for your training and support throughout this process. We would be remiss not also to thank Mr. Steven Kolberg who helped us tremendously with technical and accessibility formatting. Also, thank you to our department, specifically our mentor Dr. Alessandro Cesarano, and reviewer Dr. Jennifer Summary, for your encouragement!

Lastly, we thank you, the students! Thank you for inspiring us with your hunger for knowledge. This book is for you! We hope that you enjoy it.
